INCMLAB
The INCMLAB (Innovation and Development Laboratory) has the mission of promoting innovation initiatives that are in line with the INCM mission, including R&D activities, new product development and internal efficiency improvements. Based on an open innovation strategy, it works collaboratively with external partners (Innovation Network), and in close collaboration with other areas of the company.
SECURITY PRINTING
Although it extends to all of the company’s areas, it is in the security printing activity that we clearly find the full significance of the INCM signature “The Value of Security”. In the security printing activity, an emphasis should be placed on the production of documents of personal identification, bank cards and booklets, holograms, certificates and diplomas, as well as other graphic supports.
CIRCULATION AND COLLECTOR COINS
The minting of coin is one of INCM’s emblematic activities, either regarding circulation coins for payments or commemorative collector coins for numismatical and collecting purposes.
ASSAY OFFICES
By guaranteeing the legal fineness of precious metals, INCM Assay Offices ensure the necessary consumer protection and fair competition between the different economic agents. Currently, this activity, with 125 years of history, is carried out using the most modern analytical methods, supported by accredited laboratories, and high security marks against counterfeiting.
ELECTRONIC SECURITY SOLUTIONS
The continual evolution of information and communication technologies associated with internal research and development processes allows the INCM to offer digital solutions that support the issuing of security documents based on secure dematerialized processes.

METAL LABORATORIES
INCM’s metal laboratories are accredited by the Portuguese Institute of Accreditation (IPAC) for testing in the field of metals and metal alloys, in accordance with the standard NP EN ISO/IEC 17025.
GRAPHIC LABORATORY
In addition to quality control in the reception of raw materials and technical support provided to INCM’s graphic production and to several official entities, the Graphic Laboratory also conducts tests abroad. From the determination of grammage, thickness, pH and fibrous composition of the paper to the viscosity, color and tack of the inks, there are 29 accredited tests in all.
EDITION AND CULTURE
The preservation and dissemination of the common memories and heritage of Portuguese culture, together with a continuous renovation, constitute the mission invested in the editorial area of the INCM Editing and Culture Unit. Renewal combined with memories: alongside renowned works and authors, with traditional themes and collections, new authors appear, and collections are inaugurated that give the editorial line of the public publisher the timbre that keeps it in line with contemporary times.
